TCP/IP stands for Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol, and it refers to an entire suite of data communication protocols. All of the traffic on the internet--from the simplest e-mail to the most complex streaming video--is transferred from one system to the next in accordance with the rules in the TCP/IP protocols.

No one is likely to quiz you on this, nor will knowing it make you the life of very many parties. But don't you just hate undefined acronyms?
